DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. \nHello Hartford Audubon Members\, \nThe days are getting longer!! It is time for the Daylight Savings Time Birdathon. Always the second Sunday in March. Mark your calendars and spring forward!!\n\nI would like to acknowledge last year’s winner of the first HAS birdathon: Team “Roger’s TeeBirds” Doug Beach\, Shirley Beach and Mike LaBossiere. Congratulations on the 2021 win and good luck this year!\nPlease join the Hartford Audubon Society on Sunday\, March 14th to celebrate the return of daylight savings time with a one-day bird-a-thon. \n\nBird by teams (2-4 people) – Teams should have names and are encouraged to “go crazy” with hats\, tee-shirts\, and decorations! Please send me your team’s picture and information (name\, participants) by March 10th if possible.\nBird in Hartford County from 6 am to 6 pm.\nEvery species found is worth one point\, and if found at a HAS sanctuary is worth 2 points.\nPrizes and awards will be presented at the member’s meeting in April.\nWe ask that each team promptly completes an ebird or paper list for each location visited.\nIf you welcome a NEW birder into the team\, 10 points will be awarded.\nIf you find a rare bird please text or call 860-604-4903 right away so I may share with the rest of the group.\nPlease\, stay safe while birding and follow COVID-19 protocols: wear your mask\, keep appropriate distance\, and car pool only with members of your close family.\n\nSend me (Maggie) your results at end of day either by email ( wings.mp@gmail.com) or by text (860-604-4903). \nYou need not be a member of Hartford Audubon to participate – all are welcome to help usher in spring!\nInformation about the four Hartford Audubon preserves is available on our website at  https://www.hartfordaudubon.org/ under Sanctuaries.  Questions and confirmation of participation please\, email Maggie Peretto at:  wings.mp@gmail.com
