Pot Luck Supper/Christmas Party

Bring your favorite dish for sharing and your own table setting. Beverages will be provided. Bring a bird related $5.00 wrapped gift to place under the Christmas tree. Participants will randomly choose a gift to open after dinner. Also bring a birding treasure that you no longer need for the tea cup auction. You can bring up to a dozen bird-related photos to show. Christmas Bird Count

For those new to birding or to the Christmas Bird Count, this is the longest running of all citizen-science surveys. The Count was begun in 1900 as an alternative to the Christmas hunt during which thousands of birds were shot for dinner or merely for sport. Christmas Bird Counts provide valuable information on trends in bird populations over time. Hartford Audubon Society celebrated its 110th year on 1/12/2019!

       January 12, 2019 Hartford Audubon Society in collaboration with Wood Memorial Library celebrated its 110th year. South Windsor, CT where it all began back in 1909.
