Station 43 is an excellent birding area year ‘round and on each walk\, we will look for seasonal birds. The walk is roughly 2.5 miles long (about 3 hours) over flat terrain\, but we may encounter muddy areas and water covering parts of the path. Bring spotting scope if you have one. We’ll see what birds we can find.  Walking is easy on gently rolling trails with minimal elevation\, but footing can be uneven. DESCRIPTION:3 pm – 6:30 pm \nUse 202 Ferry Lane\, South Glastonbury\, CT for a GPS address. \nDrive past house at 202 to the end of lane\, park in lot on left. \nHappy hour time!  Starting at the Connecticut River easy observations from picnic area for common birds\, woodpeckers and gulls\, ducks are likely too!  Migration may bring some surprises.  The big question is when will a Sandhill Crane be spotted in the farm fields?  Flat terrain\, easy birding.  The walk ends around the corner at 275 Dug Rd\, Hops on the Hill Brewery where Thursday evenings they host a Car Cruise Night!
