DESCRIPTION:Trail’s Day Beginner’s Family Birdwalk in Elizabeth Park  \nElizabeth Park\, 1555 Asylum Avenue\, West Hartford \nPark in the parking areas and meet in front of the Pond House Café \nJoin HAS leader and science teacher Sarah Faulkner for a two-hour beginner’s birdwalk for families in this beautiful park.  You’ll be introduced to birdwatching\, learn to find and identify birds\, and learn about apps on your phone that can help.  Children between ages 6-17 are welcome.  We’ll look for birds\, discuss the ecosystems\, and enjoy being in nature. Easy walking\, about 1 mile in total on sidewalks and driveways. Bring binoculars and smart phone if possible\, layered clothing\, sturdy sneakers\, insect repellent\, water and snack.  Leader will have some binoculars to loan to participants.
