DESCRIPTION:Second Annual (2023) Hartford Audubon “Big January” Photo contest\n\n\nHello Hartford Audubon members\, \nHappy New Year! \nJanuary 2023 is here and we are birding and taking photos while doing so! \nWe are inviting you to submit 1 to 6 of your current Big January pictures\, one per category.  You do NOT have to have competed in Big January to enter – any January\, 2023 photos taken in the Hartford County are eligible! \nThere are six categories: \n\nBest overall of bird(s)\nBird behavior\nRarest bird\nBirders (people!)\nOops/ the one that got away…\nFunniest\n\nDeadlines: \nBy February 20th submit one picture per category to Mona Cavallero at mcavallero1@comcast.net.  Please use the form below for submissions. \nBig-January-2023-Photo-Submission-updated form \nBy February 28th Mona will number and upload all photos to the HAS website. \nBy March 31st the three judges who are professional bird photographers will select the winners. They will review the photos on the website and agree on the winning selections.  We will again invite Julian Hough\, Chris Fisher and Sam Fried to be our judges! \nWinners will be announced and ribbons presented at the HAS Spring banquet. \nThe six selected photos will be printed\, framed and displayed at the banquet and given as awards to the winners. \nAll photos will be part of the large screen display at the banquet. \nPlease enter the contest – we can’t wait to see the images you’ve gathered in this cold\, snowy month!

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 25\, 2023 \nLeader:  Jon Ward starting at 8 am \n990 Main St\, South Windsor \nCorner of Newberry Rd and Main St   \nPark in front of stucco house \nThe third of four morning walks designed for beginners at Hartford Audubon’s oldest sanctuary. Station 43 is an excellent birding area year ‘round and on each walk we will look for seasonal birds.
