DESCRIPTION:Oct 4 Raymond Brook Preserve\, Hebron Sat 7:30 am\nRaymond Brook Preserve – 168 Church St (Rt. 85) Hebron CT\nJoin us in Hebron at this hidden gem hotspot! Trails are mostly flat\,wide\, gravel paths (i.e.\, easy walking!) through woods/overgrownfarm fields\, open grass fields\, and small pond habitat. Loop is abouttwo miles and will probably last around 2 hours. May be a littlemuddy if recent rain\, but usually not too bad. We will also be ableto tour the recently established pollinator garden\, funded by a 2023HAS grant. There are no restroom facilities at the preserve\, soplease plan accordingly. Stanley Park is a New Britain gem\, hosting a diversecommunity of resident and migratory birds\, with mixed–speciesforaging flocks assembling in October. We will take anapproximately 2 mile route\, walking on paved and unpaved trailsthrough forested and open areas around the pond\, including a smallhill and a cliff overlook\, and marsh and stream viewing areas. Withluck\, the maples will be putting on a colorful display. Dressappropriately for the weather.
