Effects of Climate Change on Migratory Patterns of Birds – 3/21/2023
March 21, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Speaker: Matthew Kamm
Matthew Kamm has been birding since the age of eight and has followed his passion for nature (especially birds) throughout his schooling and professional work. After five years working for Mass Audubon’s Bird Conservation Department, he went back to school at Tufts University to get his Ph.D studying how the life histories of birds contribute to their vulnerability to decline and extinction. His analysis of long-term data from Manomet Bird Observatory demonstrates the complex responses of migratory birds to a changing climate – a few are prospering, some are adapting, but many are suffering greatly. Now, as Conservation Outreach Coordinator for Zoo New England, Matt loves nothing more than sharing the wonders of the natural world with the interested public. Please call Frances with any questions.
