Fall Migration at Rosedale Farms – Bird Walk: October 8, 2026
Fall Migration at Rosedale Farms – 7:30 am
25 East Weatogue Street, Simsbury — Park at the farm stand parking
lot and walk down, or park further in the grassy area on the left of
the dirt road. Meet at the kiosk at the end of the dirt road.
Rosedale Farms and Vineyards is a historic family farm that is not only
known for its locally grown fresh produce and wine but also offers a
variety of habitats that makes it a great birding location during Fall
migration. A combination of agricultural land and fields, woodlands,
two ponds, a stream and frontage on the Farmington River bring in a
nice variety of migrating sparrows, warblers, songbirds and raptors.
The walk will last approximately 2 hours, and the terrain is easy and
flat. We are hoping to find some late warblers, up to seven sparrow
species and other migrating birds. Come and join us and see how
many birds we can find!
