Free

Zoom Meeting Program at 7 pm –   link will be mailed to AllHAS email address.

Speaker: Katie Fallon

Vultures are often underappreciated, and unloved, despite the vital roles they play in healthy ecosystems. Based on her recent book, this fun presentation will explore the life and times of the noble Turkey Vulture, including its feeding, nesting, and roosting habits, and common misconceptions. She’ll also discuss being up-close to Turkey and Black Vultures through her work at the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia.  Katie is an educator, writer, and Certified Professional Bird Trainer. She writes the column Wingbeats for Bird Watcher’s Digest and is the author of the nonfiction books Vulture (2020, 2017) and Cerulean Blues (2011), and two books for children. Her first word as a child was “bird.”
