Celebrating 50 Years of Project Puffin —
from Maine to the World!
In the late 1800s, puffins were almost eliminated from the Maine
coast. In 1973 an experiment to bring them back to their former
nesting island of Eastern Egg Rock was begun. Learn about this
success story and how years of effort resulted in a thriving colony
off of Maine.
