Birds I’ve Watched in India
I’ll tell you about the behavior and ecology of some wonderful
Indian birds. Soaring groups of scavenging Black Kites, Painted
Storks with day–glo pink feathers in their wings, standing in the
river by the Taj Mahal, Blue Whistling–Thrush a lapis jewel in a
darjeeling tea plantation, glimpses of huge Gray–headed
Swamphens in water hyacinth beds in Kerala waterways, calling
Koels easier heard than seen, and more. I’ll demonstrate field
guide capacities of regional Merlin Bird Packs, and when to guess
a bird might have “magpie” in its name.
