 will take you close to intersection of paved Park Rd. & Beaver Brook Rd.

Go south .3mi on unpaved Beaver Brook Rd. to bridge – park in picnic area or roadside. 

Join us for a beautiful forest and marsh walk of about 2 miles in the Beaver Brook area of Peoples State Forest, Barkhamsted.  We’ll see an interesting variety of birds, and if you download the free Merlin Sound ID app to your smartphone in advance, you can ID some birds we hear.(https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/sound-id/).  From the picnic area we will walk ½ mile on Beaver Brook Rd. to a boardwalk through a forested wetland on the Agnes Bowen Trail, then a short distance to a second boardwalk out into the Beaver Meadow marsh, then back along the road.  Both boardwalks have benches.
