Weird and Wondrous:   The Lives of Bats

Meeting will be held via ZOOM only

St James’s Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Ave, West Hartford, CT.

Speaker:  Maureen Heidtmann

This program is an overview of bats of the world, with an emphasis on our local species. Maureen will cover the persistent myths and misconceptions about these fascinating creatures sharing the many roles bats play to ensure a healthy planet.  She will also share the perils bats face in their struggle for survival, their amazing resilience, and what we can do to help. Maureen is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and has been focusing on bats for over twenty years. She holds a Master Wildlife Conservationist certificate, and a permit from USDA to keep non-releasable bats for educational purposes.
