9/9 Wednesday Great Pond Glastonbury
8 birders attended Wednesday morning’s walk, overcast skies to start. Walk length .52 mi, time 2 hour 8 min. Spent considerable time at the entrance area and at the pond’s lookout deck. Of note were two shorebirds wading in Lilly pads near the only pooled water at the pond, Solitary and Spotted. Quieter than expected. 3 warbler species noted. Of the three red-eyeds, two were in close proximity of one another. Wood thrush was not seen but heard nearby multiple times by many. May have had a second pe-wee calling.
